Jiotto Studio Art
School was established by
Janusz Jiotto Zelazny
- an artist based at Clifton Pugh's Foundation for artists
at Dunmoochin in Cottles Bridge.
Located in Fitzroy,
Melbourne and soon also to be open
in inner Sydney, the studio serves
students and artists' communities of Carlton,
Collingwood, Northcote, Thornbury, Preston, Brunswick, Richmond
and the City of Melbourne.
The studio provides art classes in oil and
acrylic painting at
its Moor St. Fitzroy studio and
life drawing sessions / classes in Smith
St. Collingwood.

has become a part of the inner-city cultural and social
life together with studio-warehouses, galleries and artists'
day and night retreats.

Studio participants
come from diverse backgrounds: high school and university
students, street artists and law practitioners, medical,
architecture, graphic, interior and fashion design, advertisement
and fine arts professionals.
Friends
of Jiotto represent all fields
of the
Arts: traditional
and contemporary painting, drawing and sculpture, literature,
music, dance, theater, film and photography.
Jiotto
Studio
runs
a wide variety of art sessions
to suit all needs,
from
untutored life drawing
featuring short and longer
poses, afternoon life
painting sessions from a single pose,
to oil
painting
classes from still lifes and
models.

Apart from
gaining skills in drawing and painting, attending the studio
gives many participants a real alternative to their everyday
work environment.
The Studio participants come from diverse backgrounds
ranging from high school, university students and street
artists to the law, medicine, architecture, graphic, interior
and fashion design, advertisement and fine arts
professionals.
Artist
friends of the Jiotto represent all fields of the Arts:
visual arts, literature, music, dance, theater, sculpture,
film and photography.
Taking part in the Studio sessions and events enriches,
supplements and brings balance to participants' lives.
The social and cultural environment of the studio gives
artists and students the opportunity to meet a variety of
people and to broaden their understanding of others.
Art & social events held at the Studio and Jiotto's
home in Cottles Bridge give a sense of belonging to one of
Melbourne's art communities.
